About Holmes & Associates
Holmes & Associates is an Adirondack Park-based research firm with expertise in data collection, data analysis, clear and concise reporting, and in the design and deployment of online database tools. The research director, Timothy P. Holmes, holds an MA in sociology from the University of Idaho with an emphasis in rural sociology and has worked in the private research sector since 1983. After gaining post-graduate research experience in Idaho, Washington, and Alaska, Holmes settled in the Adirondack region of Upstate New York where he has directed over 60 major research projects for moare than 30 clients.
We work with clients and potential clients on all aspects of a project or program, from initial design through conclusions, recommendations, and next steps. We promote collaborative efforts and public-private partnerships, encouraged in part by experienced facilitators who discover common ground while cultivating innovative ideas.
Proposal writing, logic models, questionnaire design, sample selection, data entry, data analysis, reporting, conclusions, recommendations, and public outreach are among the steps to effective program development and we have the experience and expertise to complete them quickly and effectively. We work closely with clients to ensure that final products are specifically what is needed to make informed decisions.
We apply the same type of systematic and efficient approach in our development of online, interactive database tools. Examples include Adirondack Scenic Byways.org an online guide to 60 Byway communities and their over 600 natural, cultural & historic resources; NY EMT Info.com a dynamic regional course directory for EMTs and other healthcare providers; and Adirondack Craft.com an online catalog of over 400 products made by 50 artists and producers in the Adirondack region of northern New York.
